Companion Cab is an assisted cab service to the elderly and mobility impaired. The Companions are first-aid trained.

Sort of, but not exactly. Ride-share services like Bolt and Uber collect you from your current location and drop you off at your destination. Companion Cab, conversely, is not just a "drop and go" service. You are accompanied by a Companion for the duration of your trip, providing assistance as and where needed.

First, send a WhatsApp to 067 018 7407 and provide us with the following info:

1. The Wheres: Where are you going from and where are you going to?
2. The Whens: When do you need to go (date and time)? If you have a specific appointment time, let us know that too so that we can factor travel time into when we will collect you.
3. The How-Longs: How much time would you need?

Once we have all of this information, we will calculate your estimated fare and send you a quote. If you are happy with the price, we can finalise your booking.

Please note: Your fare is calculated on distance and time. If you spend a longer time with your Companion or travel further than originally indicated, the final fare may be adjusted accordingly.

You can pay by one of three methods:

1. Via EFT, once your booking is confirmed
2. By card (tap-and-pay only)
3. In cash to your Companion

We charge R8.00 per kilometre and 95c per minute, beginning when your Companion meets you at your front door and helps you to their vehicle, and ending when you are dropped back off at your starting point.

If your collection point is more than 10km from one of our hubs, a distance surcharge may be added.

Yes and no. At this time, we are only able to provide service to those in standard folding wheelchairs but we are looking at expanding our service to include support for motorised wheelchairs and mobility scooters in 2023.
